Captain America: The "Living Legend of WWII" was frozen for nearly 50 years before being revived by the then-Avengers League. He now serves as the JLA's co-leader.

Martain Manhunter: Shortly after being stranded on Earth, J'Onn J'Onzz became one of the founding members of the League, and has been the only member to stay with every incarnation. He is currently JLA co-leader.

Batman: For a long time, Bruce Wayne was content to handle things himself as Batman, never finding much use for teams. He now realizes that he needs help in his war on crime that only the JLA can provide

Iron Man: A wealthy businessman and inventor, Tony Stark created a suit of armor to save his life. Iron Man has since been one of the most faithful and financially beneficial members of the JLA.
Wonder Woman: The champion of the Amazons, Diana was sent to teach their ideals of love and peace as Wonder Woman. She joined the JLA as an effort to help in her task.
Flash: Wally West was an orphan when he was granted speed powers, allowing him to reach speeds higher than Mach-1. Quickly putting a costume together, he raced out to become the third hero known as the Flash!

Wasp: Janet Pym was bio-engineered to be able to shrink to wasp-size and to deliver bio-electric stings. She has evolved over time from a spoiled little rich girl to a mature businesswoman, and it is this maturity and tenacity that she brings to the JLA.

Giant Man: Henry Pym is one of the brightest men on the planet. He has used his talents as a consultant for the League and SHIELD, but now uses his incredible size changing powers on the front line!

Captain Marvel: Solomon's wisdom, Hercules strength, Atlas' stamina, Zeus' power, Achilles' courage, Mercury's speed, SHAZAM! He's Earth's mightest mortal!

Thor: The legendary Asgardian thunder god has adopted Earth as his home and considers himself to be the protector of the entire planet and its people.

Vision: Known as the Human Torch during WWII, the android formerly known as Jim Hammond was remade into the Vision. He now serves with the JLA, not quite sure of his past, but crystal clear on his morality.

Firebird: Bonita Juarez was just trying to live her life when classified as a dangerous menace. The League was sent to deal with her, but instead offered her membership and broke their government ties. She can fly and generate blasts of intense heat and flame.
