"Under DEO authority we order you to stop now and surrender," Chase said.
"I was really sorry to hear about your father, Cameron. He was always so nice to me. He would visit my father and I sometimes," the young man in silver said.
"Who are you?" Chase asked.
"You were a little girl last time you saw me. I remember you, but then again I remember a lot."
"Who are you?" Chase asked.
"You can call me Magog," the young man in silver said.
"Magog, surrender peacefully or be taken by force," Valor said.
"You seem familiar too. Are you the son of Ray Palmer?"
Chamber and Valor looked at each other.
"You heard what my associate said. Let the kid go, and surrender," Damage said.
"I know who you are without you saying a word. Those eyes, that chin, you are Grant Emerson. Your dad talks about you all the time."
"My dad is dead," Damage said.
"No, he isn't. He has been trying to rescue you for a while, Grant."
Damage's hands began to glow as his intensity grew. He was getting closer to firing a blast of pure concussive energy.
"Easy, Grant, remember we need the captive unharmed, Director Shelley's orders," Chase said.
"Why don't you come back with me Grant? He has been missing you for quite a while. Or maybe you should ask Shelley about his last DEO mission and Manchester Black."
Grant's powers continued to grow out of pure fury. His eyes began to glow and his body began grow more muscular and glow the same way as his eyes and hands.
"Grant? Are you okay, buddy?" Chamber asked.
Magog laid his hand his captive's head. "Oh my god . . . You are pure power."
"Cameron touch Grant now," Valor said.
Grant was rippling with energy. His body was crackling with pure power as Cameron laid her hand on his arm. Grant continued to ripple and glow with energy.
"It's not working," Chase said.
"Grant, aim straight up and let go," Chamber ordered.
"It hurts, Jono."
"I know, Grant, please just trust me."
Grant aimed his arms straight up and let go. The blast was so strong that everyone in the hall way was thrown back from the concussive force. The roof was blown completely out.
"I remember it all now," the being in the cloak said.
Grant lay bunched on the floor as everyone else watched in awe and disbelief.
"I am an intelligent machine colony sent from the year 85271. I am the Future."
"Hello, Future, my name is Magog. I am here to rescue you. I am sure you remember the way you have been held here."
"Your body is singing with tektites that feel very closely related to my own."
"You look very similar to one of the humans I met when I was sent to this time," the Future said.
"Yes, that would be my biological father Mitchell Shelley. Future, you have been held captive here for over fifty years now," Magog said.
"I am aware of that. I also know who your parents are, why your body has my tektites in it, and what you want from me."
Valor got up and walked slowly toward Magog and the Future. Chase was laying half unconscious from the concussive blast and Chamber was sitting on the floor just watching.
"My name is Thomas Palmer . . . "
The machine colony looked at Valor. "I know who you are and what you want. You have the most fascinating DNA I have ever seen, combine it with your brother and you would be unstoppable."
"Future, would you like to return with me to our base?" Magog asked.
"You may call me Matthew. It is the name your people gave me."
"Matthew, I am inviting you to come back to the castle with me," Magog said.
"Future, I am sure everything will be explained to you if you just listen to Director Shelley," Chamber said getting up from the floor.
"Your name is Jonothan Starsmore Palmer. The bottom half of your face and top of your chest blew off when you were thirteen years old. You are in love with a girl named Suzy her codename is the Secret. And you are connected to an energy source that you have not started to understand. You are more powerful than you even suspect."
Chase stood up and walked next to Valor.
"I am taking both of you into custody under DEO authority. Surrender peacefully and . . . "
Chase froze in mid-sentence, not talking or moving any further.
"What did you do to her?" Valor asked.
"Stasis bubble, it will wear off in short order and she will not know any time passed."
"Why haven't you put me in one yet?"
"I am not sure. There is something special about you, Thomas Palmer."
Chamber stood up and walked to his brother's side. "Matthew, or Future, or whatever you want to be called, I'm sure that if you stay here and talk to Director Shelley everything will be explained."
Beams of pure yellow energy went from Future's eyes striking Chamber. When the light show ended Chamber was standing there. The bottom half of his face and his chest were repaired. He looked normal again.
"What did you do to me?" Chamber asked.
"I returned you to your normal evolutionary track for the time being. I have no intentions of letting you take me back to my captor. Shall we return to your headquarters, James?"
"I'm not sure I can let you just leave, Matthew," Valor said.
"You can come with us," Magog said.
"Normally I might take you up on it but I have too much to keep an eye on here," Valor said.
"Acceptable answer, Thomas Palmer. Do not try and stop us. I am leaving here."
"That's acceptable as well, Matthew. You and I will meet again," Valor said.
"Valor, you can't just let him go," Chamber said.
Valor looked over at Magog. "I recommend you quit delaying and get out of here, Magog."
Magog nodded. "Door."
A glowing yellow door appeared and Magog and Future walked through it. The hallway was now empty aside from Valor, the completely normal Chamber, the chronically suspended Chase, and the unconscious Damage.
"Why didn't you stop them?" Chamber asked angrily.
"Well, for one, even if I wanted to I don't think I could've. The other reason, I really didn't feel like it."
"What do you mean didn't feel like it?"
"He was held prisoner here for over fifty years. If the guy wanted to leave then, fine. He deserved it."
"Director Shelley is not going to be happy about this."
"Why are you so upset? For the first time in years you look normal. Why don't you go show Suzy what you really look like?"
"Tom, Shelley said that it was of maximum importance that we not let him get away."
"I'll take the blame, Jono," Valor said.
"Why don't you fire me?"
"You didn't even try to contain him and the other one. And what happened to your crew is completely and totally unspeakable. Someone could have been killed."
"If you notice the only member who suffered any physical harm was Damage, and this was harm he brought upon himself. Everyone else is fine. So I have to wonder just how dangerous this being is."
"Thomas Palmer, I am placing you under suspension until further notice. You are a detriment to the DEO with your current attitude problem."
"I am surprised you don't just lock me up for the next fifty years like you did to Matthew. And, by the way sir, do you have a son named James?"
"Get out of here now before I call security."
Tom turned and walked out of the office.
"Matthew, is there anyway you might be able to transfer back to the form I found you in?"
"Yes, my image inducing software can alter my form in any way I wish." Future glowed for just a moment and appeared again as a young man with brown hair and a goatee. He was wearing a very impressive brown suit. "I hope this is okay. I have never been too fond of that other appearance I had."
"Matthew, did you have a last name?"
"Tyler. I was named after original hero Rex "Hourman" Tyler."
"Are your powers still on when you are in this form?"
"They are greatly weakened. I can do basic things like see a person's past as well as create small chronal stasis fields."
Magog nodded and the two walked to the quarters of Gog. The door opened and the two walked in.
"You are the one with my tektites coursing through your body," Matthew said.
"Father, this is the Future. He was the unexplained tektite source the DEO had," Magog said.
"You invaded the DEO without my permission?" Gog said taking a deep breathe. "We will talk about this later." He looked over at Matthew. "Who are you?"
"My name is Matthew Tyler, I am an intelligent machine colony from the year 85271. Your son felt this would be the best way for me to introduce myself to you."
"What do you mean?" Gog said.
Matthew's body shifted and changed until he was back as a yellow skinned being with the long brown cloak.
"So that is what you mean. You are very powerful aren't you?"
"More powerful than you can even begin to imagine."
"I have part of you inside me. I can feel them humming because of you."
"Yes, you do Mr. Sparks."
"Would you like to be a part of my organization?"
"The Kingdom is a group you formed to try and protect the safety of metahumans and mutants. I am neither," the Future said.
"You knew I was going to ask you and still you listened so I'll assume you are interested."
"Well, I was sent back for a reason, Mr. Sparks. We need to talk."
"Yeah, he said my attitude was a detriment to the DEO."
"I'm sorry, Tom."
"Don't be. What did Suzy think of your face?"
"She said I looked just as amazing as I did before."
"I am glad to hear that, Jono."
Jono smiled and began to glow just as he did before. His repaired face was again back to it's normal appearance.
"Are you okay, Jono?"
"It wore off I guess."
"I think we'll be seeing him again," Tom said.
