"Remember me Mitch?"

Mitchell Shelley looked at the man. The man was wearing a golden horned helmet and a large golden eagle shape that covered his chest and shoulders. Under the eagle shaped shoulder pads he wore golden chain mail. He was wearing black pants and boots that had the same golden eagle shape at the top of them. He was holding a long golden two pronged staff.

Mitchell Shelley's voice grew cold. "William."

"Since I'm working right now, I would prefer you call me Gog. I assume you remember it was my codename."

"Whatever you say, William." Shelley's voice was frigid towards the man.

"That is a very cold tone of voice for an old friend, Mitch."

"After what you did, you are not my friend."

"I did you a favor," Gog said.

"YOU KIDNAPPED MY SON!"

"I saved your son, Mitch. Your legacy was killing him."

"You took him with you."

"No, he came with me of his own free will because his father was only interested in turning him into a soldier. So he chose me. The man who actually stayed and spent time with him, the man who cured him so he would not die. The man who was not completely wrapped up in Department of Extranormal Operations work."

Mitchell Shelley charged him in a fit of rage. Gog aimed his staff at him with lightning speed and fired a blast that sent Shelley flying across the room.

"The truth hurts doesn't it, Mitch?"

Shelley lay on the floor unable to move. "Why are you here?"

"Can't an old friend drop by for a visit?"

"You are doing more than dropping by for a visit, William."

"I have a few reasons for dropping by. James told me about a lot of young recruits when he was here last. Thought I might see why you were getting a new army up. By the way, Mondo sends his regards."

Shelley's face dropped at the mention of the name Mondo. Of all the things that had happened in his life, he considered what happened with Mondo his worst failure.

"Oh Mitch, don't look so upset. He is alive and cured. However, all the times I have talked to him, he doesn't seem to like you too much. I'm not surprised but he really dislikes you."

Gog walked over to the computer. He typed on the keyboard and opened up file after file on Shelley's computer system.

"Oh, Mitch, you really need to learn more about these things. I didn't even have to hack you to get in. This Generation Next Project is a real piece of work."

"Get out of here, William."

"Wow, Mitch. I bet this Hawkins kid really hates you. I wonder if he wants to be released. I bet he would enjoy working with me and my other associates." He continued to browse through the computer files. "Oh my goodness! Palmer's son, Valor, really seems to hate you also. I bet he would love to know all about you, Mitch."

"Please stop this, William. You don't know the threat to world security you would be creating."

"Don't worry, Mitch. I'm not here to turn your team against you. For the most part, it seems I really wouldn't have to anyway. I was just here to get some information and I think I will take Hawkins with me as well."

Gog tapped his belt buckle triggering his image inducer. he looked just like every other DEO agent now except he was holding a cane. Before he walked out of the office he turned to Shelley and said, "You should be able to walk again in about fifteen minutes."

Gog walked out the door and continued to the holding cells. There was one person in a cell. It was the young African-American man, Virgil Hawkins. After Gog saw that the room was clear he locked the door behind him.

"What do you want?" Virgil asked.

"Is that any way to talk to your savior?"

"I would hardly call you my savior. You're a DEO goon here to try and convert me. I'll save you the hassle. I'm not going to join your little Nazi group so cut the BS and get out of here."

Gog triggered his image inducer taking his normal appearance again. "Son, I am offering you the keys to the Kingdom all you have to do is say yes."

"Wait. Does this mean you're not DEO?"

"Wow, you are swift. I am not DEO, neither are my associates. I can't guarantee that you will agree with all we have to offer. But I know two things that you may enjoy."

"And those are?"

"Well, you'll be out of this cage."

"And what else?"

"You'll be working for the opposite side of the DEO."

"Sign me up."

"I thought that's what you would say," Gog said with a smile on his face.

Gog opened the door to the cell then uttered the word, "Door." A transport door appeared that both Gog and Virgil Hawkins stepped into. They both were taken back to Gog's headquarters.

Mr. Bones entered Mitchell Shelley's office a few minutes after Gog left. He saw the office slightly messed up and Shelley himself leaning against the wall sprawled out but conscious. Bones moved quickly over to his friend.

"Director Shelley, are you okay?"

"It was William."

"Who is William, sir?"

"The Yin to my Yang."

"I am not understanding you, sir."

"Let me tell you a little story, Bones. It will be a while before I can move anyway."

Bones sat down next to Shelley.

"My parents died when I was about ten years old," Shelley began. "My uncle became my guardian. He was a good man, but not as good as my parents. I joined the army the first chance that I got. In the army I met William Sparks. He was the first human being I connected with since my parents died. He became like a brother to me actually. We survived battle after battle in the war."

"Which war was that sir?" Bones asked.

"The Big One. World War II. Our luck held out until one battle. In 1942, we were fighting and apparently something fell from the sky. Neither James nor I remember exactly what happened but when we came to we were being treated by a medic and there was some naked teenager lying near us being tended to. Whatever hit really blasted us with shrapnel so we got taken to a medical unit. While we were there the wounds were cleaned and within seconds healed completely. William and I underwent a lot of testing because of this."

"What about the naked kid?"

"He had no dog tags, couldn't remember who he was and was completely unharmed. He was taken into government custody as well. I will get back to his story. Anyway, as I was saying William and I underwent a lot of testing because of this miracle healing. The testing stopped though after they examined our blood."

"Your tektites?" Bones asked.

"Yes, the tektites. William and I were both completely infused with those nanorobots that repaired our bodies. Well, neither of us were sent back to the army because of this. We were deemed far to important to national security. So we were both given jobs in intelligence for the government. William and I both actually moved through the ranks quickly."

"Sir, are you saying William has tektites just like yours?"

"Yes Bones, that is what I said. Anyway, I was doing some field work and I was shot. I didn't die right away but there was too much damage done to me for the tektites to heal me. I was taken to the hospital where I died. And then I woke up again completely healed. Except not quite as I was. I now could fly. William had been studying the tektites and he told me the electrical shock form my body when I died, rebooted the machines with a slightly new secondary program to them."

"You had told me about that before, sir."

"Well, in 1950, the government noticed the increase in extranormal beings. I am talking metas, mutants, and other. They formed an organization to categorize and handle this threat; the Department of Extranormal Operations. I was named Director, and William - being the brilliant scientist he is - was named the head of research."

"I learned about that when I became an agent," Bones said.

"By 1972, we had become a very secret organization. A men in black kind of operation, we don't really exist. Even the government didn't really oversee us anymore. We monitored and dealt with all superpowered beings that we came across. Sure there were superheroes running around but they maybe dealt with five percent of all extranormal activity. But I am getting off course. In 1972, I met my Marie. And for the first time since the DEO was founded, I took a small leave of absence."

"We deal with that much?"

"Yes, but back to my story. While I was away, William took over as substitute head of the DEO. He went on more field missions than I had and recruited many new members to the organization. He went by the codename Gog. You should remember him. He was the one that got you out of crime and on the right path with us."

"Yeah, I remember Gog. He went on a lot of missions and spent a lot of time in the lab."

"Well his time in the lab was spent studying his own tektites. So while I was getting closer to Marie, he had developed a mastery over those and made a great DEO head. In 1972, I married Marie and in 1974 she got pregnant. I was so excited and happy about this at first. But the pregnancy had a complication. My tektites got passed to my child. He developed quickly inside Marie and it was tearing her body apart."

"Oh god, sir. I am so sorry."

"James induced labor and was able to save my son. There were too many complications though and Marie died," Shelley grew silent and had tears in his eyes. "After he was born my son - William's - body was still growing out of control. James had to take care of him. He was the only one who knew anything about the tektites. His knowledge wasn't enough to have a cure instantly though so he put William in a stasis field. Time still passed but it was at a much slower rate. James stepped down as head of the DEO and I took my place again."

"I remember that, I thought you were new."

"I threw myself into this job. I recruited more metas and mutants than I ever had before. I even started up the Generation Next project even though it was in it's early stages then. In 1982, James finally found the answer. William was aging normally again. The stasis field kept him so he was about the age of a four year old but he remembered all those years in stasis and recognized James as his dad."

Bones sat there nodding and listening to Shelley's story.

"I was going to take young William under my wing, get him started early with the DEO training. James disagreed with this. He had developed feelings for my son. He didn't want him to be a DEO agent. James quit. William went with him."

Shelley stood up and walked to his computer.

"What happened to the naked guy though you mentioned?"

"We called him Matthew Tyler, he was the one taken from us last week."

"How have your son and Gog avoided detection for so long?"

"We have never cracked the codes of the tektites like James did. For instance did you know that the equipment would never detect me?"

Bones nodded. "How do you control what powers you get when you have?"

Shelley pointed down at his watch. "Gog created this. It programs the tektites to one of a dozen preset choices I have. It also gives me the ability to kill myself should I need to rotate powers. He truly has mastery over the tektites, Bones."

About that time an agent knocked on the office door.

"Enter," Shelley said.

The agent walked in and said, "Sir, we have a problem."

"I know, he freed Hawkins."

"Yes sir."

"Thank you agent. Get back to work," Shelley said.

Mitchell turned on his computer to make sure Gog had not harmed it. When the screen came on he saw a message from Gog.

THE KINGDOM IS COMING.

Bones looked at the writing on the screen. "What does that mean, sir?"

"I don't know, but it concerns me."
